Because this information may be from the teacher’s personal experience, there is no other way to learn it. Another learning method is reading through the material in a textbook or articles. This is probably the most tedious learning method, especially considering that it usually means wading through many pages trying to pick out a few key facts. An additional disadvantage to this method is that all the material isn’t required, the teacher is looking for you to absorb certain information and pass over other facts. Whatever you use, make sure you have your study materials at hand for the next step.

In essay questions you should find a short passage in the book, or a few key points from your notes and restate them in own words. Don’t make it harder than it has to be by trying to come up with completely original material.
