Math Homework Help
You just can’t figure out that math homework. It’s been sitting in front of you for 45 minutes, and as you stare at it, it just doesn’t make any more sense to you. You get that classic math tension headache. How can you solve this problem?
Don’t worry, there is a way out, and it’s not paying someone else to do the homework for you. Sometimes the key is knowing when to ask for help. I know it can be a humbling experience to ask for help on your math homework. The important thing about math is getting it right, and sometimes even math genius’s have to ask for help.
Here are some places you can go to get help with your math homework:
1. Your math teacher. Many people miss this important and obvious resource. You might think they are too busy or don’t care about you. Usually both those things aren’t true, and even if they are, you lose nothing from asking for help. Teachers have as much interest in your success as you do. If you’ve ever had a teacher get up in your face about your homework, they usually do that because they want you to try and understand the concepts. Even the meanest math teachers will at least try and help, it’s their job.
2. Your parents: They want you to succeed, so why not enlist their help? They may not know as much about the subject, or have as much talent for teaching, but they make up for it because they love you. Even if they didn’t ever get past algebra in school, they will do their best, and the best part about them is. the earlier you ask for help, the better the help is going to be later on. If you use their knowledge while you’re still in the simple concepts, they are going to learn the material with you. A final note on parents: don’t let them do the work for you. They will be tempted to just do the work for you. If you fall into this trap you are hurting both yourself and them. They don’t need the stress of your grade resting on their work, and you don’t want to miss learning the material.
3. Study groups. Working with a couple friends can speed up work a lot. While they aren’t usually farther along, they can take some of the strain off. It’s more fun working in a group. You’ll enjoy yourself more, and afterwards you and your friends can hang out. Working together means you get to relax together, play games, watch movies, etc.
Though you may find you only need one of these resources, don’t completely ignore the others. Just because one thing works now doesn’t mean it will work all the time. Each resource has strengths and weaknesses. Finally I want to remind you to do your own work, not just because of the legality but as a guarantee of success. If you don’t do your own work how will you answer questions in class? A teacher is likely to notice if someone does really well on homework and can’t do work in class. Also even if you get out of that, how will you be able to get along in the next class if you don’t know what you were supposed to learn in the last class?
